ALL-TRACE BOLUSES - Managing the trace elements of cattle at grass:

As livestock are turned out you will be considering how best to supplement your growing stock or breeding cows with trace elements.

It is vital to give stock a supply of trace elements when they are out at grass, especially if they are grazing away from the home farm and are being managed extensively. Most grass pasture is deficient in the major trace elements, namely copper, cobalt and selenium and lack of iodine is also becoming more of a health issue than in previous years.

Breeding cows that will be served this summer will need a good copper, selenium and iodine status to help ensure good conception rates and young stock will need a good supply of copper to keep growth rates on target.

Many farmers are now using All-Trace boluses and High Iodine boluses from Agrimin to give a consistent supply of nutrients to livestock throughout the grazing period. All-trace provides copper, cobalt, selenium, iodine, zinc, manganese and vitamins all day every day for 8 months. At around £5.00 per head for a two bolus dose, using All-Trace is an affordable option.

All-Trace and High Iodine All-Trace are available from your local Wynnstay Store. Farmers ordering All-Trace products will be supplied with a free bolus applicator (while stocks last).
