Residents in Mid Wales will soon be able to shop in a new state-of-the-art facility as the work on Wynnstay’s new store premises draws to a close.
The building which houses a total of 9,000sq ft, is being split into two facilities – one which is for the expanding Wynnstay Store and the other will house a brand new Spar shop as well as the Post Office, making it a real hub of convenience.
The new stores will be officially opened on Saturday 1 December at 10am and everyone is invited to come along, enjoy the celebrations and meet Santa!

“There will be lots of activity in both stores during the opening day including free food, wine tasting and a Santa’s Grotto packed full of fantastic presents for the children,” comments marketing manager, Andrew Evans.
“Wynnstay has had a store in Llansantffraid for many years, but the old store was quite small and in need of being replaced. The new store will stock all the same products, plus many extra and provide the local community with not only a convenient store to get their daily products from, but also a local shop which stocks local produce.”
The new Spar shop will stock a huge selection of recognised national brands as well as several products which have all been produced locally including; Celtic Pride Beef and Lamb and Tanatside Cheese.
The Spar shop has created six new jobs in the village, with the Wynnstay store employing a further six. The Wynnstay store will be open Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 5pm. The Spar store will be open seven days a week, 7am to 10pm.
Andrew concluded: “Wynnstay originated in Llansantffriad and is committed to giving local residents the best facilities possible. These new convenience stores mean we can keep open the local Post Office, create new jobs for the area and stock local produce, so we continue to support the local economy.”
The new stores are located next to the Station Restaurant and have better car parking and collection facilities making it easier for customers.
