Three new agricultural recruits in Wales are the first beneficiaries of a new training scheme which has been implemented by Wynnstay to bolster its Welsh sales force.
Rhys William, Sian Phillips and Iwan Vaughan have all recently been accepted onto a new trainee development scheme which has been set up by Wynnstay to attract new recruits to the agricultural supply industry.

“The purpose of the new scheme is to bring the next generation of agricultural sales specialists into the industry,” explains Iolo Jones, Wynnstay’s sales manager for Wales. “Many agricultural businesses have a tendency to wait until an employee retires until a replacement is recruited. But that isn’t necessarily the best policy for our business succession.
“The new scheme is therefore about investing in people for the future and ensuring that the next band of product sales specialists are ready to hit the ground runn ing and service the needs of our valued customers.”
Each recruit will spend time working at a number of Wynnstay’s sites throughout Wales and will take part in a full product and sales training programme, gaining hands-on experience of Wynnstay’s full range of agricultural inputs and established approach to service. “This will provide them with the necessary skills to find the best solutions for customers and will position them at the forefront of their chosen sector within the industry,” Mr Jones continues.
“The agricultural supply industry is becoming progressively more competitive and it is essential that our employees are fully equipped to be able to provide solutions to our customers’ needs. The skills that the new recruits will learn will be invaluable as their careers progress and will ensure that Wynnstay remains at the forefront of the supply chain industry throughout Wales.”
Wynnstay has also recently appointed two new sales specialists in Wales, both of whom will be responsible for promoting Wynnstay’s full range of animal feeds, fertilisers, seeds and feed supplements to farmers in their specific trading areas. Rhodri Pritchard joins Wynnstay as sales specialist in the Vale of Clwyd, whilst Bryn Hughes joins the South Wales team covering the Gwent area of South Wales.
“Both Rhodri and Bryn have a proven track record in the agricultural supply trade. Their expertise in all aspects of agriculture will ensure that they are able to offer existing and new customers the very best advice and solutions. We look forward to working with them and to welcoming many new customers in their respective trading areas.”
