Two new regional specialists appointed as Wynnstay invests in South and West Wales
The Wynnstay Group has announced the appointment of two new members of staff to its agricultural team in South and West Wales.
Howell Richards has been appointed as the company’s dairy development manager covering an area that stretches from Pembrokeshire across to Monmouthshire. Mr Richards, who farms at Cwrt Malle, Llangynog, Carmarthen, joined Wynnstay’s agricultural team at the beginning of April. |
He is responsible for promoting the feeds produced at Wynnstay’s Carmarthen mill as well as Wynnstay’s range of minerals and dairy supplements to dairy farmers throughout South and West Wales.
“The feed mill at Carmarthen is one of the best equipped in Wales,” Mr Richards comments. “The nature of dairy farming is constantly changing with the most progressive farmers utilising new cropping methods and specialised cow diets to get the most out of their herds.
The mill has been invested in heavily over the past couple of years to ensure that farmers in the region have access to a range of blended and compound ruminant feeds that are of the very highest standards.
“I am looking forward to working with our customers to learn more about the latest feeding technologies and to ensure that South Wales remains one of the UK’s most efficient milk producing regions.”
Meanwhile, Huw Reed has been appointed as Wynnstay’s animal health regional manager in Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. Mr Reed, who has previously worked for David Davies Farm Supplies, specialises in animal health and dairy hygiene and will be based at Wynnstay’s Tregaron store.
“Wynnstay is already well established in the region,” Mr Reed remarks. “The Tregaron store is currently being expanded so that farmers can benefit from a wider product range and improved distribution network. My appointment is part of the company’s ongoing investment in the area to increase the range of services available and to assist farmers in making the most of these services.
“By appointing animal health specialists such as myself, Wynnstay’s customers will be able to benefit from the company’s combined expertise. Farmers wanting to know more about any of Wynnstay’s products or services are welcome to contact us for a free consultation or simply to have an informal chat about a particular animal health issue – our door is always open.”
Howell and Huw will work in tandem to support the current commercial sales team in South Wales, and their appointments will enhance the range of services and commitment that Wynnstay offers to farmers throughout the region.
