The seed business of Wynnstay Group Plc has grown significantly since the take over of Ridleys Seeds in January 2000. The business based at Astley, near Shrewsbury, has one of the most modern seed plants in the UK.

Built in 1995 it enables Wynnstay to produce cereal seed marketed under the Hi-Gene seed name to far higher purity and germination standards than the EEC and Higher Voluntary Standards (HVS) used by most of the seed trade.

The seed plant is also utilised through the winter cleaning grass seed crops that have been grown on contract specifically for Wynnstay's range of grass mixtures.

Wynnstay also have a grass and root mixing facility at Astley where we produce our standard grass mixtures and devise specialist prescriptions.
